In this process microscopic particles of solid copper metal are mixed in a liquid carrier and injected to the wood at high pressure. The process eliminates the need to dissolve the copper as is done in earlier copper-based preservatives. The micronized copper preservative has proven to be highly effective in protecting the wood against fungal decay and termites. Unlike other methods of treatment this method is not corrosive. The wood treated using this method last longer and is stronger.
